Landlord with big Atlanta presence to pay $48 million for allegedly mistreating tenants "FTC Chair Lina Khan said in a Tuesday news release that Invitation Homes “preyed on tenants through a variety of unfair and deceptive tactics,” including charging tenants undisclosed hidden fees, unjustly retaining former tenants’ security deposits and unlawfully evicting tenants because of unclear eviction policies. Invitation Homes agreed to settle the legal dispute for $48 million.
