I Watched All the Videos. I Still Had No Idea What to Do. Every New Hire, Ever! Watching a training video is not training. I see this mistake again and again. A new hire walks in. The company proudly puts them through “mandatory training.” Translation: They sit in front of a screen watching videos they’ll forget tomorrow. No notes. No questions. No feedback. That’s not training, that’s content consumption. Real training starts after the video ends. It starts when someone tests what they learned. When a manager watches, corrects, and repeats until it sticks. When feedback turns theory into skill. Because repetition alone isn’t learning. It needs correction for real learning to stick. And this is where so many companies fail. They spend enormous amounts creating training videos and pennies testing whether they worked. Training without testing is WORTHLESS! If your team’s first test happens in front of a client, you’ve already failed. Test them early. Test them often. Make feedback part of the job. How does your company ensure people are ACTUALLY trained?
