Half the Job Listings You See Are Lies. The Other Half Might Ghost You. Atlanta Business Chronicle just dropped a gut punch of a report. Link below. Here’s what’s happening: 🔹 294 applications. 50+ rejections. 1 job. That’s the new normal. Gen Z isn’t lazy. They’re exhausted. 🔹 35% of job listings are fake. They’re called “ghost postings.” Companies post roles they never plan to fill. Some do it to look like they’re growing. Others to collect resumes. 🔹 AI writes the resume. AI filters the resume. Nobody reads it. Great candidates are cut before a human ever sees them. 🔹 17% of job seekers now talk to bots, not recruiters. Oh, and one engineer used AI to blast out 10,000 applications in a week. Employers responded by making candidates do two days of unpaid work—for an internship. This is a mess for both employees and employers! Clarify Capital found that 60% of applicants quit mid-process. Why? The systems are too long, too confusing, too expensive—and too fake. Gen Z is facing a job market worse than any in modern history: – No savings – Rising rent – Sky-high rejection – No one to talk to – And no clue what’s real We’ve optimized for scale. Not sanity. You can blame tech, or incentives, or HR. But if your company’s hiring funnel treats humans like spam, don’t be shocked when the best ones never apply again. 👀 Full piece via Atlanta Business Chronicle: https://lnkd.in/eihVkKDx ✅ Repost if you’ve seen it. 💬 Drop your worst hiring story below.
