Instead, new research from Emory, Fordham, and Auburn universities finds that AI isnโ€™t cutting work hoursโ€”itโ€™s extending them. Workers in AI-exposed jobs are clocking an extra 3.15 hours per week while job satisfaction plummets. AI isnโ€™t just automating tasksโ€”itโ€™s spying on employees to squeeze every ounce of productivity out of them before replacing them. Why? Because AI is a competitive advantage, and businesses arenโ€™t going to waste it on making your life easier. They're using it to: โœ”๏ธ Increase efficiency (aka: make you do more in less time). โœ”๏ธ Cut costs (aka: figure out who they can fire firstโ€”or just never hire in the first place). โœ”๏ธ Freeze hiring while scaling up โ€“ Many tech giants, like Salesforce, arenโ€™t replacing workers outright. Instead, they grow revenue and workload while keeping headcount the same, using AI to do what once took entire teams. If you think working from home protects you, think again. AI-powered surveillance tools are tracking everythingโ€”your typing speed, time spent in apps, even your facial expressions during video calls. If AI can do your job, it eventually will. Your only defense is to outmaneuver it. โœ”๏ธ Master AI tools โ€“ If you canโ€™t beat it, learn to use it better than everyone else. โœ”๏ธ Develop uniquely human skills โ€“ AI doesnโ€™t have emotional intelligence, leadership, or creativity, at least not yet. โœ”๏ธ Move up the value chain โ€“ Shift into roles that involve decision-making, strategy, and relationship-building. โœ”๏ธ Adaptโ€”fast โ€“ The worst thing you can do is pretend this isnโ€™t happening. Every business owner should use AI to reduce costs and increase revenueโ€”itโ€™s a matter of survival. If you donโ€™t, your competitors will, and youโ€™ll be left behind. AI isnโ€™t your friend or enemy. Itโ€™s a potent tool, the likes of which humanity has never seen before. It can be an incredible force multiplier for business ownersโ€”boosting efficiency, cutting costs, and unlocking new capabilities. But for employees, itโ€™s a different story. AI isnโ€™t here to preserve jobs but to make companies more profitable and less reliant on human labor. And yes, itโ€™s watching you every step of the way. If youโ€™re an employee, prove youโ€™re more valuable than an AI modelโ€”or get replaced. If youโ€™re an employer, use AI wisely, or burn through talent until no one wants to work for you. This isnโ€™t the futureโ€”itโ€™s happening right now. Adapt or be replaced. https://lnkd.in/ekJKryH9
