Ah, another glowing self-reported success story from the proptech world! While Bilt's resident rewards platform sounds as enticing as a chocolate-covered broccoli promise of "health AND taste," let's pause for a moment of clarity. You know what would be truly revolutionary? A vendor case study with the methodological rigor of a Supreme Court deliberation, rather than the "trust me, bro" school of statistics we often see in real estate tech. The claimed 20% boost in renewal rates is like attributing your garden's growth solely to premium fertilizer while ignoring the perfect spring weather and your neighbor's expert gardening advice. How do we separate Bilt's impact from other variables like market conditions, property improvements, or simply having Sarah, your star leasing agent, who could probably rent igloos in Hawaii? Let's face it: correlation and causation are like distant cousins at a family reunion – related but not necessarily connected. Those thrice-earlier rent payments could be the result of anything from stricter enforcement to better resident communication. And comparing their referral program to a well-executed traditional system? That's a study I'd love to see. Don't get me wrong – Bilt might be the best thing since online rent payments. But in an industry where every new platform promises to revolutionize property management, perhaps it's time we demanded evidence as robust as our NOI targets. https://lnkd.in/gNfMYYrU
